Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, Horizons for Youth has made the difficult decision to cancel Racing for a Reason 2020. We appreciate the support from our amazing corporate sponsors and guests and their efforts that have enabled us to raise tens of thousands of dollars for Horizons for Youth in the past. We are so grateful for all of you. We look forward to welcoming you back next year.
This cancellation has been a very difficult decision because the needs of Horizons for Youth have increased during this time. More than ever, we rely on the generosity of individuals and organizations to help us respond to this health crisis and maintain a healthy, safe, calm and supportive environment for our residents. We sincerely thank all of you who have provided assistance to our shelter over the past few months. We will continue to rely on you for support and we hope that together, we can keep the youth in our home safe as they continue to build healthy, productive and fulfilling futures.
Our thoughts are with our community members and we hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and well during this difficult time. Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to see everyone next year!

About Racing for a Reason
Racing for a Reason is our annual fundraising event held at Woodbine Racetrack. As our largest fundraising initiative, the event features a buffet dinner, a silent auction and raffle, a chance to watch and bet on the horse races as well as an opportunity to hear inspiring stories from former youth residents that successfully transitioned out of the shelter system. Racing for a Reason is an opportunity for the community to come together to help these young people leave the streets behind and escape from the cycle of poverty.
