Horizons for Youth hosts a number of events to raise awareness of youth homelessness and collect donations to support the programs at our shelter.

'racing for a reason' dinner

Thank you to everyone who supported Horizons for Youth's  annual 'Racing for a Reason' dinner at Woodbine Racetrack on June 14, 2017. Thank you to our wonderful guest speakers who bravely shared their experiences of homelessness with our guests and expressed how Horizons supported them achieve their goals.

Please stay tuned for information for next year's Racing for a Reason dinner in June 2018. This event features dinner, a silent auction & raffle, and an opportunity to watch the horse races. This event promises to be a great time for a great cause.

If you would like to learn more about becoming an event sponsor, please contact Stacey Murie at or 416-781-9898 x27.

Umbrella Day 2015#2.jpg

umbrella day

For nearly a decade, we have successfully run our Umbrella Day Campaign to raise funds and awareness of youth homelessness, while selling umbrellas in Toronto. This year, with the sale of umbrellas, we are focusing our efforts on raising funds for three key areas that help our youth break free from the vicious cycle of homelessness: Abuse Counselling, Education, and Mental Health & Addictions Counselling.

More information to come about Umbrella Day 2017.

Homers for horizons

Homers for Horizons is a softball tournament, which gives participants the chance to enjoy the outdoors while supporting a great cause! This event consists of a softball tournament, raffle, silent auction and
50/50 draw. We anticipate over 300 people will attend.
