Corporate Volunteer Program

Give a meal (changed due to covid-19 restrictions)

Your team are the chefs for the meal! Help out at Horizons for Youth by cooking lunch or dinner for up to 45 residents. We will work with you to plan a menu that all of the youth at our residence will love. The meal will be prepared offsite at your location, and we welcome you to help serve the meal to our youth.

Requirements: This volunteer activity is reserved for Charitable Partners of Horizons for Youth - those who give a minimum monetary donation of $500 or a minimum of $1000 in in-kind donations.

Time & Date: Monday-Friday, drop off and serve either 12-1pm or 6-7pm

Shelter improvement

Spend a morning or afternoon at Horizons for Youth helping us make our shelter a better home for our residents. Tasks can include: organizing clothing or food donations, light painting, outdoor maintenance, etc. We will let you know what tasks are most urgent when booking your volunteer activity.

Time & Date: Tuesday-Thursday, either 10:00am-12pm or 1:00-3pm

host a workshop

Plan and lead a workshop or workshop series for our clients. Topics can include, but are not limited to: career preparedness, sewing, knitting, music or financial literacy. We welcome the creativity of your team!

Time & Date: Wednesdays 10am-12pm

holiday gift wrapping

You can be one of Santa’s Elves for the day! We will need help organizing and wrapping holiday gifts for our residents and Community Support clients.

Requirements: This volunteer activity is reserved for Charitable Partners of Horizons for Youth - those who give a minimum monetary donation of $500 or a minimum of $1000 in in-kind donations.

Time & Date: Mid-December 10am-12pm or 1-3pm

strategic support

Use your unique expertise and skill set to help homeless and at-risk youth. We appreciate when skilled corporate groups offer to do pro bono work or lead learning sessions for members of Horizons for Youth's staff team. Some areas of interest are governance & board development, marketing, fundraising, facilitation and information technology.

build Horizons for Youth kits

We welcome volunteer groups to create care packages for our youth. These kits are full of basic hygiene products, pyjamas, underwear, socks and other needs. Kits can be made at Horizons for Youth or at your location and the items can be purchased (by your team) at our wholesale partner Bargains Group. Bargains Group will also provide us with a free case of donations when you purchase the kit items from them. Learn more about Kits for a Cause.
