Volunteer Opportunities for Groups

Are you looking for an opportunity to help out in your community? Horizons for Youth welcomes families and groups from faith-based organizations, schools and community groups to help out at our shelter. Please read the group volunteer opportunities listed below and get in touch with us to plan your volunteer activity!

GIVE A MEAL

Your group are the chefs for the meal! Help out at Horizons for Youth by cooking lunch or dinner for up to 45 residents. We will work with you to plan a menu. We kindly ask all groups to provide the ingredients for this volunteer activity.

SHELTER IMPROVEMENT

Spend a morning or afternoon at Horizons for Youth helping us make our shelter a better home for our residents. Tasks can include: organizing clothing or food donations, light painting, outdoor maintenance, etc.

build Horizons for Youth kits

We welcome volunteer groups to create kits for our youth. These kits are full of basic hygiene products, pyjamas, underwear, socks, and other needs. Kits can be made at Horizons for Youth or at your location and the items can be provided by our wholesale partner Bargains Group. Bargains Group will also provide us with a free case of donations when you purchase the kit items from them. Learn more about Kits for a Cause.
